Hi, I saw your comment on this site

http://17thdegree.com/archives/2005/07/01/wordpress-plugin-page-restriction/

http://17thdegree.com/archives/2005/07/21/wordpress-plugin-page-access/

I see you've got these two plugins to work for wordpress 2.2

I've tried using them as is. But in my admin section it says "no pages". So I can't restrict any pages. Is it possible for you to make these plugins available to me? and probably other people would like them too.

Done.

Have a look at my Downloads Library.

Or, if you're in a hurry ;) just click here.

I've put both plugins in there. I haven't included any documentation 'cos there wasn't any with the originals. I've just tweaked them to get them working for myself.

If you have any issues or questions, give me a shout - no guarantee I'll be able to answer, but I'm the sad kind of geek who'll give it a damn good try.

I'm going to create a plugins section in my forums too, just in case anyone else is interested.

wow! thanks! it works! When I'm logged out and try to access that page. I get a white screen with error code. What do you get?

What should happen is, if the page is restricted and you're not logged in, you should get the login page, which then redirects to the right one on login (if you're allowed to).

If you login but still don't have access, you can define a Page that gets used - just specify the URL in the right place.

Hi,

I just installed your plugin on my website, and configured the plugin with 2 users, and 2 pages. I also made a noaccess.htm page for users who aren't logged in. But everytime I log out of the admin panel and act like a guest on the website I can still see the restricted pages. What am I doing wrong?

I cant find the problem?! I am using WP 2.3

Thnx in advance!

Hey Bastiaan,

Have you also activated the Page Restriction plugin and marked your page as restricted by ticking the box?

Without that box ticked, you still get to the page.

That make sense?

Hi,

That was great, seems like the plugin is working very well right now!! Thanks. But there is still a little question. When I restrict a page....I get the standard login page from wordpress displayed when i'm not logged in. Is there any possibility to redirect is to another page? Because I filled in the adres http://officecentre.bastiaanfranssen.nl/noaccess.htm in the empty box on the bottom of the screen, but it always redirect me to the login page!?

Any suggestions?!

Thank's in advance!!

Hey Bastiaan,

The point of the plugin(s) is to allow a user to login to see the page, or to be told they're not allowed to see it by checking their rights. It can't do that without using the login page and the user logging in.

What you're wanting is a plugin that will manage access for users that are already logged in, right? And block all non-logged in users automatically, without giving them the option to login?

I can have a look and see if I can build a tweak into it to do what you want, but I can't guarantee a timescale or even if its possible.

I just installed Page Restriction Plugin and am having some problems.

When I selection 'Update options' under Page Restriction Options I get:

WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'restricted' in 'field list']
update wp_posts set restricted=0 where ID=1
....
WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'restricted' in 'field list']
update wp_posts set restricted=1 where ID=7

When the pages are viewed (regardless of whether I'm trying to restrict that page or not) I get:

WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'restricted' in 'field list']
select restricted from wp_posts where ID=7

I am using Wordpress 2.3

 Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hi Graeme, nice plugin!

Yes, this is exactly what I´m looking for in the moment. Managing acsess for users that are already logged in. When you know if it is possible in wp, please let us know, ok?

Hi Greame, thanx for doing the good work of actually making these wonderful plugins work.

We are using WP2.5 and after downloading and installing the plugins from 17thDegree, we also got the 'no pages' issue. Many people seem to be getting this problem, but in our case it could be due to the fact that we are using 2.5?

We would really like to try your improved version of these plugins, but can you tell us if they work with WP2.5 also?

Kind regards!

Shoshin

Graeme,

Good on you for getting these to work for WP2.2. I've tried them in WP2.5.1 and they won't work for me. I cannot create page groups and have activated both plugins. It'd be cool if you kept these updated since they seem to be what a lot of people need :)
