So, what do you do when you get a pair of goths in the studio?

Simple, you turn the guy into the Crow and the girl into a total glamour puss.

Last Saturday, I had an insane shoot with Maz and her friend Graeme. I’ve shot Maz once before and we got on like a total riot then, so she’s comfortable with me shooting her and gave us some great looks and poses and a fantastic laugh.

Graeme, on the other hand, had never modelled before and was understandably tense about getting in front of the camera and posing around. Well, no need to worry. After a couple of pointers on his first couple of poses, he was striking up like a pro giving it all for the camera. We got some great shots, but this one is one of my favourites of the two of them.

I know its not nude (there has been a lot of that lately) but I still think its a smart shot and the heavy goth high contrast B&W treatment works..I think… Hope you enjoy it too.

On Friday, I had an excellent shoot with the lovely Kirsten.

We shot some art nude images as I’m doing that style for my college Portraiture class.

Now, I know that fine art nudes tend to be in black and white, but I thought that, because she has fantastic long, red hair and gorgeous dark eyes, I’d leave the shots in colour to bring them out more.

So, do they still count as “Fine Art” or does proper fine art depend on the B&W presentation, as well as pose, intent and all the other things?

Personally, I say yes, but what do I know…?
